Baseball Recap: Hardee Comes Up Short

Hardee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Avon Park Red Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-2 back in February.

Leo Marrero was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Hardee's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Avon Park, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hardee will face off against Lake Placid at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Avon Park, they will take on DeSoto County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
