The Twin Valley South Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Tri-County North Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Twin Valley South is hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Twin Valley South scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They really took it to Newton Local for the full four quarters, racking up a 60-33 win at home. That 60-33 margin sets a new team best for Twin Valley South this season.
Twin Valley South's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trent Ray, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. Those eight rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jace Thuma, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 67 points the game before, Tri-County North were a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They were beaten by Tri-Village 87-20. Tri-County North has not had much luck with Tri-Village recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Twin Valley South's win bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Tri-County North, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
Twin Valley South was able to grind out a solid victory over Tri-County North in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, winning 45-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for Twin Valley South since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
