Basketball Recap: Andre Wright Key Part of a Team Effort in Falcons Win

On Monday, the Bard Falcons beat the University Phoenix 68-56. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 25th in District of Columbia, while the Phoenix are ranked 409th in New Jersey), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bard to victory, but perhaps none more so than Andre Wright, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. Kevin Phifer was another key player, putting up 12 points in addition to eight assists and five boards.

The victory made it two in a row for Bard and bumps their season record up to 8-11. As for University, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Bard didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-50 loss against Ballou on the 22nd. As for University, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 65-51 defeat against Marion P. Thomas on the 21st.
