Baseball Game Preview: Decatur Golden Gators vs. Kentlake Falcons

The Decatur Golden Gators are taking a road trip to challenge the Kentlake Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Decatur is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

While Decatur's win against Kentlake wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Decatur had just enough and edged out Kentlake 3-2. While the Golden Gators didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Decatur got a great performance from Hunter Buol as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over 6.1 innings pitched. The dominant performance gave Buol a new career-low in hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Eric Havili, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple.

Decatur's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-0. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.67 runs across that stretch. As for Kentlake, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.
