Football Recap: Garden Spot Skates Past Lebanon with Ease

Garden Spot not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since August 30, 2024 (when they won 56-6). They claimed a resounding 38-0 victory over the Lebanon Cedars. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 186th, while the Cedars are ranked 505th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Garden Spot to victory, but perhaps none more so than Seth Musselman, who rushed for 34 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 99 yards and one touchdown. Those 99 passing yards gave Musselman a new career-high. Gabe Martin was another key player, gaining 128 total yards and a touchdown.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Garden Spot's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Teagan Upton, Hunter Fry, and Ryan Miller, who each picked up one sack apiece.

The win got Garden Spot back to even at 1-1. As for Lebanon, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Garden Spot will square off against Ephrata at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lebanon, they will take on Conrad Weiser at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
