If St. John Paul II Catholic was riding high fresh off their 35-12 takedown of Antelope last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The St. John Paul II Catholic Lions fell 40-29 to the Wickenburg Wranglers on Friday. The Lions' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, St. John Paul II Catholic still got an impressive performance from Janey Lopez, who posted 23 points. That was a full 79.3% of St. John Paul II Catholic's points, marking the third time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points.

Mallory Murphy was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds for Wickenburg. The match was Murphy's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Macy Murphy, who earned four points and ten boards.

St. John Paul II Catholic's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-8. As for Wickenburg, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
