Dayspring Christian Academy takes loss despite strong efforts from Max Krehbiel and Cam Gomez

Recap: Dayspring Christian Academy Eagles vs. Flatirons Academy Bison

After flying high against the Denver Academy Mustangs on Friday, the Dayspring Christian Academy Eagles came back down to earth. Dayspring Christian Academy was beaten by Flatirons Academy 71-37 on Saturday. Dayspring Christian Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-15.

Despite the loss, Dayspring Christian Academy had strong showings from Cam Gomez, who scored seven points along with five rebounds, and Max Krehbiel, who scored seven points.

Pistol Chavez continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Flatirons Academy, scoring 27 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Chavez has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last six times he's played. Trey Abeyta was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with two steals.

Dayspring Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Flatirons Academy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-4.

Dayspring Christian Academy will head out on the road to challenge Bishop Machebeuf at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Bishop Machebeuf's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matchups. As for Flatirons Academy, they will play host again and welcome Denver Jewish Day, where tip off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Denver Jewish Day is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
