Volleyball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Decatur Community

Quinter typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Decatur Community proved too difficult a challenge. They won by a set and slipped past the Bulldogs 2-1. Winning may never get old, but the Red Devils sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Decatur Community got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 24-26, 25-12.

Brylee Minnick paced Decatur Community's offense, picking up 14 kills. Minnick were helped by Lauren May and Jori Fortin, who contributed 13 assists each. Fortin and Minnick didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with two apiece.

Decatur Community now has a winning record of 17-16. As for Quinter, their loss ended a five-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 23-10.

Decatur Community does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Quinter, after both having extra time off, they and LaCrosse will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another on Tuesday.
