Basketball Recap: Northern Burlington Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Maleeya Brammer and Jillian Watson

After flying high against Pemberton last Saturday, Northern Burlington came back down to earth. The Northern Burlington Greyhounds took a 61-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Westampton Tech Panthers on Wednesday. The Greyhounds haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Northern Burlington's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jillian Watson, who posted 20 points, and Maleeya Brammer, who scored 17 points and seven rebounds. That was a full 34% of Northern Burlington's points, marking the third time in a row Brammer has had more than a third of the team's points. Olivia Fryc was another key player, putting up seven points and three steals.

Northern Burlington's defeat dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Westampton Tech, their victory was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-3.

Coming up, Northern Burlington won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Camden Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Northern Burlington is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.8 points per game this season. Westampton Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
