After a string of three wins, McLean's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 64-37 loss at the hands of the Sandy Spring Friends Wildebeests. The result was an unpleasant reminder to McLean of the 86-41 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

McLean's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 5-3. As for Sandy Spring Friends, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.

McLean will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Field at 6:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025. As for Sandy Spring Friends, they and Prince George?s Christian Academy Blue will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. One thing working in Prince George?s Christian Academy Blue's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
