Baseball Game Preview: Palm Beach Gardens Gators vs. Jensen Beach Falcons

The Palm Beach Gardens Gators are taking a road trip to square off against the Jensen Beach Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Wednesday, Palm Beach Gardens was able to grind out a solid victory over Jupiter Christian, taking the game 5-2.

Ian Vertucci spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Tony Bieber was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February of 2024. Chase Turner was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Jensen Beach faced off against Centennial on Thursday. Jensen Beach's pitchers stepped up to hand Centennial a 1-0 shutout. The win continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.

Jensen Beach also got a great performance from Peyton Baum as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched.

Palm Beach Gardens now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Jensen Beach, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Palm Beach Gardens was able to grind out a solid win over Jensen Beach in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, winning 6-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Palm Beach Gardens since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
