Baseball Recap: Morrison Wins Going Away Against Galva

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lena-Winslow, Morrison was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Galva Wildcats with a sharp 16-1 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Mustangs needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Koltin Swaim made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Swaim was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. He also put up two RBI, which were his first of the season.

In other batting news, Morrison got a massive performance out of Collin Renkes, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and two runs. Those four RBI gave Renkes a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carson White, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Morrison always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win got Morrison back to even at 2-2. As for Galva, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Morrison will face off against Stark County at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Galva, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Midland at 4:30 p.m. on April 7.
