Softball Recap: McKeel Academy Comes Up Short

McKeel Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 6-2 to the Lake Wales Highlanders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 10-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Brianna Shelley made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Chloe Lanier, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

McKeel Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Lake Wales, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

McKeel Academy has already played their next contest (against Winter Haven), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Lake Wales, they have already played their next match, a 7-6 defeat against Evangelical Christian on the 15th.
