Cabell Midland faced Hurricane in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Knights skirted past the Redskins 2-0. The win was familiar territory for the Knights, who have now won seven matches in a row.

Not much got past Audrea Watts, who gave up just a hit and racked up 14 Ks to keep Hurricane off the board. Watts has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Becca Conrad and Nicole Harris did most of the damage at the plate: Conrad went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Harris went 3-for-4 with one run and one double.

Cabell Midland's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 23-3. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.67 runs across that stretch. As for Hurricane, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 12-1 and their overall record down to 21-5.

Cabell Midland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hurricane, they will take on Spring Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
