Basketball Recap: Jon Anaya Key Part of a Team Effort in Crusaders Win

First Baptist can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They came out on top against Varsity Opponent by a score of 40-27. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 45-41 back in November of 2024.

First Baptist's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jon Anaya led the charge by putting up ten points. Anaya has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. Brody Jaeger was another key player, scoring eight points.

First Baptist's victory bumped their record up to 9-11.

First Baptist didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 26-17 defeat against Fourth Baptist Christian on the 31st. Varsity Opponent has also already played their next game, an 81-62 loss against Eduprize Open on the 30th.
