Baseball Recap: Ben Holt College Prep Academy's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

While Ben Holt College Prep Academy put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Redwood Christian. The Bobcats put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 10-0 win. Considering the Bobcats have won five matches by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Mariano Rodriquez made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Rodriquez was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Armando Flores was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Hunter Haynes was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Ben Holt College Prep Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Redwood Christian only posted an OBP of .364.

With the victory, Ben Holt College Prep Academy broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-6. As for Redwood Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6-1 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ben Holt College Prep Academy will welcome River Islands at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Redwood Christian, they will host Athenian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
