After each having a week off, the Glades Central Raiders and the King's Academy Lions will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Glades Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 29.8 points per game this season.
Glades Central's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Friday. They strolled past Pahokee with points to spare, taking the game 14-0. The game was the first time the Raiders have beaten the Blue Devils on their field since November 14, 2020.
Glades Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Taj Barnes led the charge by throwing for 69 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 33 yards.

Glades Central didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Sauvernson Paul, Jaylin Bouie, and Caleb Knight picked up one apiece. Bouie is also on a roll when it comes to defended passes, as he's now defended at least one in each of the last nine games he's played.
Meanwhile, King's Academy suffered their biggest loss since November 22, 2024 last Friday. They were beaten by Archbishop McCarthy 48-7. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.
Glades Central will have to contain Tyce Porcher as he made an impact in King's Academy's last game. He rushed for 76 yards and one score. Porcher didn't just play on offense: he also made seven total tackles and defended one pass.
Glades Central pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 5.0 points on average over those games. As for King's Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.
Glades Central skirted past King's Academy 22-19 in their previous matchup back in October. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Porcher, who rushed for 141 yards and one TD while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Raiders still be able to contain Porcher? There's only one way to find out.
