Volleyball Recap: Firebaugh Takes a Loss

Firebaugh was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Dos Palos Broncos. The Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Broncos from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-17, 25-9, 25-14.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dos Palos to victory, but perhaps none more so than Yaretzi Sandoval, who had 11 aces and nine digs. Those 11 aces gave Sandoval a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lilliana Gonzales, who had 13 digs and nine aces.

Firebaugh's defeat dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Dos Palos, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-13-1.

Coincidentally, Firebaugh and Dos Palos will both be playing Coalinga the next time they take the court. The Broncos will host the Horned Toads at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Eagles will head out to face them on Thursday.
