Softball Game Preview: Huntington Red Devils vs. Coldspring-Oakhurst Trojans

The Huntington Red Devils will face off against the Coldspring-Oakhurst Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Huntington has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since February 19.

On Monday, Huntington came up short against Alto and fell 7-4.

Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Coldspring-Oakhurst was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Franklin.

Trinity Rosales spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 12 Ks.

On the hitting side, Coldspring-Oakhurst saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Lee, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double was Lee's first of the season. Another was Cassidy Loll, who earned one run and two stolen bases.

Coldspring-Oakhurst's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Huntington, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

Huntington couldn't quite finish off Coldspring-Oakhurst in their previous meeting on Saturday and fell 10-8. Can the Red Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
