Volleyball Recap: Western Sierra Collegiate Academy Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Western Sierra Collegiate Academy extended their winning streak to four on Thursday, bumping them up to 9-4. They blew past the Sacramento Country Day Cavaliers 3-0. The game was the first time the Wolves have beaten the Cavaliers on their court since September 28, 2021.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Western Sierra Collegiate Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Adelyne Olvera, who had five digs and three aces. Another player making a difference was Katelyn Tanber, who had seven digs and three aces.

They weren't the only good server: Western Sierra Collegiate Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in 19 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Sacramento Country Day's loss came despite strong showings from Sophia Espinoza and Logan Watts. Espinoza had nine digs and two assists, while Watts had 13 digs, eight kills, and three aces. Watts has been hot for a while, having posted six or more kills the last 18 times she's played.

Western Sierra Collegiate Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against East Nicolaus on the 20th. As for Sacramento Country Day, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Leroy Greene Academy on the 20th.
