Baseball Game Preview: William Monroe Dragons vs. Broadway Gobblers

The William Monroe Dragons will square off against the Broadway Gobblers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. William Monroe will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between William Monroe and Turner Ashby, and William Monroe kept the tradition alive. The Dragons came out on top against the Knights by a score of 4-1 last Thursday.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last match, Broadway made sure to put some runs up on the board against East Hardy on Wednesday. The Gobblers blew past the Cougars 15-8. The Gobblers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by seven runs or more this season.

William Monroe pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Broadway, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.

William Monroe came out on top in a nail-biter against Broadway when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 4-2. Will the Dragons repeat their success, or do the Gobblers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
