Baseball Game Preview: Newman Catholic Knights vs. West Fork Warhawks

Newman Catholic is on a four-game streak of home wins, while West Fork is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Knights will host the Warhawks on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Newman Catholic's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Nashua-Plainfield with a sharp 12-0 win.

Meanwhile, West Fork won against Nashua-Plainfield on Thursday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. Everything went the Warhawks' way against Northwood-Kensett as they made off with an 11-4 victory.

Newman Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for West Fork, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.

Newman Catholic came out on top in a nail-biter against West Fork in their previous meeting back in July of 2024, sneaking past 4-2. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Warhawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
