Basketball Recap: New Diana Comes Up Short

New Diana came up into this matchup off a tough 22-point defeat last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Harmony Eagles by a score of 35-32 on Tuesday. New Diana's loss continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

When it comes to explaining why New Diana lost, don't look at Jolie Ballard. Despite the final result, she posted nine points in addition to five assists and five boards. That's the most assists Ballard has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Starrmia Dixon, who put up nine points and four steals.

New Diana's defeat dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Harmony, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-10.

New Diana wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 46-26 victory against Daingerfield on the 11th. As for Harmony, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 29-11 win against Chapel Hill on the 11th.
