Perrin-Whitt and Gordon squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Perrin-Whitt had to settle for second. They fell 8-4 to the Longhorns. The Pirates' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Perrin-Whitt's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Gordon, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season.

Gordon will take on Hamlin on Saturday. The Pied Pipers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Longhorns' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Perrin-Whitt will be paying especially close attention to Gordon's game: after Gordon faces off against Oglesby, they'll take on Perrin-Whitt again on Saturday.
