Basketball Recap: Mason Comes Up Short

Mason lost against Lakota West back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Mason Comets took a hard 55-41 fall against the Lakota West Firebirds. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 402nd, while the Firebirds are ranked 40th).

Mason has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season. As for Lakota West, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-5.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Mason will square off against Princeton at 7:30 p.m. on February 21st. As for Lakota West, they and St. Xavier will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played.
