Recap: Scottsbluff Bearcats vs. Chadron Cardinals
The Scottsbluff Bearcats scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Chadron, posting a 79-38 victory at home. That 79-38 margin sets a new team best for Scottsbluff this season.
Scottsbluff was led to victory by Rylee Meininger and Nate Kelley. Meininger scored 18 points, while Kelley scored 16 points. The matchup was Kelley's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Reisig, who scored six points.
Scottsbluff pushed their record up to 6-1 with that win, which was their third straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.0 points per game. As for Chadron, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
Scottsbluff will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Elkhorn Valley at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Elkhorn Valley will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line. Chadron's road trip will continue as they head out to face Valentine at 7:00 p.m. on December 29th. Hopefully Valentine focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Monday.
