Recap: Riverside Rangers vs. Bowie Bears
If the Riverside Rangers were riding high off their 57-27 takedown of the Clint Lions last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Riverside was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 63-62 to Bowie. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (57), Riverside still had to take the loss.
When it comes to explaining why Riverside lost, one person who can't be blamed is Luis Rodriguez. Despite the final result, he scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rodriguez has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Marcus Jauregui, who scored 14 points.
Riverside's defeat dropped their record down to 11-17. As for Bowie, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 18-9.
Riverside will be playing in front of their home fans against Fabens at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Fabens is coming into the contest with 11 straight losses on the road, meaning Riverside will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Bowie, they will take on Austin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bowie has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 385 points over their last six games.
