Basketball Game Preview: Hyndman Charter School Hornets vs. Paw Paw Pirates

The Hyndman Charter School Hornets will face off against the Paw Paw Pirates at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Hyndman Charter School is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Blacklick Valley on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Hyndman Charter School was outmatched by Blacklick Valley and fell 67-33. The defeat continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, Paw Paw came up short against Penns Manor on Saturday, falling 66-44. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Pirates came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 110th in West Virginia, while the Comets are ranked 458th in Pennsylvania).

Hyndman Charter School's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Paw Paw, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.

Hyndman Charter School took a serious blow against Paw Paw in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 76-25. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Paw Paw's Donavan Tanouye, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 12 steals.
