Soccer Game Preview: Bauxite vs. Mena

The Bauxite Miners will head out to challenge the Mena Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bauxite has given up an average of 3.5 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Bauxite came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Nashville, falling 6-0. Bauxite haven't had much luck with Nashville recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Mena duked it out with Magnolia on Monday. The Bearcats walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Panthers.

Mena now has a winning record of 7-6-3. As for Bauxite, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7-2.

Bauxite beat Mena by a goal when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Miners since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
