Volleyball Recap: Northwest Lions vs. Pattonville Pirates

After flying high against Poplar Bluff on Monday, Northwest came back down to earth. The Lions came up short against the Pattonville Pirates on Tuesday, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 last Saturday.

While Northwest had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 21 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-23, 25-22.

Leading Pattonville to victory were Ellen Mae Young and Madison Dunn. Young had 17 assists and five aces, while Dunn had 15 assists and five digs. That's the most aces Young has posted since September 4th.

Northwest has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11-4 record this season. As for Pattonville, they now have a winning record of 13-12.
