Softball Recap: Brunswick Snags Eighth Win in Last Nine Games

Brunswick was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Shaker Heights on Thursday. The Blue Devils blew past the Red Raiders 10-1. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.

Kiley Williams looked comfortable as she pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

At the plate, Ava Beas was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Delainey Andolek was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Brunswick hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters every time they've taken the field this season.

Brunswick has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Shaker Heights, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-7.

Brunswick and Shaker Heights are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Blue Devils will take on Lorain at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Shaker Heights, they will face off against Mayfield at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
