Softball Recap: Tussey Mountain Wins Going Away Against Forbes Road

Tussey Mountain won against Moshannon Valley on Thursday with 17 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. Everything went the Titans' way against Forbes Road as they made off with a 17-3 win. Considering the Titans have won five contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Joslyn Raley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Adyson Weyandt was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Olivia Mills also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Tussey Mountain always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Forbes Road only posted an OBP of .273.

The victory got Tussey Mountain back to even at 6-6. As for Forbes Road, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Tussey Mountain didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 12-7 win against Southern Huntingdon County on the 29th. As for Forbes Road, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 13-2 loss against McConnellsburg on the 29th.
