Football Game Preview: Huntsville Hornets vs. Dayton Broncos + How To Watch

Two dominant backs in Traeshawn Brown and Denim Foster are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Huntsville Hornets will challenge the Dayton Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Huntsville has given up an average of 30.7 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Huntsville is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Montgomery on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Hornets were beaten by the Bears 54-20. The Hornets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.

Zarien Adolphe put forth a good effort for the losing side as he threw for 229 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes. Huntsville also got help from Landon Fisher, who showed off his sure hands for 105 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Dayton lost 50-26 to Lake Creek on Friday. The contest marked the Broncos' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Huntsville will have to keep a close watch on Jesse Price and Jerry Prieto Jr, a pair of players who had a big impact on Dayton's prior game. Price picked up 171 receiving yards and a pair of scores, while Prieto Jr threw for 285 yards and two TDs. Price showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 61 yards.

Dayton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Huntsville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Everything came up roses for Huntsville against Dayton in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 49-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
