Softball Recap: Lakewood Victorious

Lakewood posted their closest victory since April 25, 2024 on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Mt. Baker Mountaineers 23-21. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Mountaineers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Riley Pevny was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, five runs, and five RBI. Cassidy Wolfe was another key player, scoring four runs while going 4-for-4.

Lakewood's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Mt. Baker, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakewood will face off against Ferndale at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mt. Baker, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Mount Vernon at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
