Fordham Prep has gone 8-2 against Salesian recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. Fordham Prep's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Finbar Duffy, who went 7-for-13 on his way to 20 points in addition to six rebounds and four blocks, and Liam Farrell, who shot 54% from the field en route to 15 points and seven boards. Thanks to that strong game, Farrell now owns an excellent 47.6% field goal percentage. The team also got some help courtesy of Devlin Sharkey, who posted eight points.
Meanwhile, Salesian strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They took down Moore Catholic 54-37. That looming 54-37 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Eagles yet this season.
Fordham Prep better keep an eye on Jonathan Lagos. He was instrumental in Salesian's win, dropping a double-double with 24 points and 11 boards. Lagos' big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 21 points. Marvell Hammett was another key player, putting up six points along with 15 rebounds and six blocks.
Salesian's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Fordham Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Fordham Prep has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 23.5 boards per game. However, it's not like Salesian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 35.8 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
