Basketball Game Preview: Germantown Warhawks vs. Bay Port Pirates

The Germantown Warhawks will head out to square off against the Bay Port Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Germantown knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matchups -- so hopefully Bay Port likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, Germantown came up short against Brookfield East and fell 71-63. The Warhawks haven't had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Germantown might have lost, but man, Jaycee Mani was a machine: she en route to 31 points and five steals. That's the most steals Mani has posted since back in February of 2024. Danica Gosz was another key player, putting up 15 points in addition to eight assists and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Bay Port hadn't done well against Notre Dame Academy recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Bay Port came out on top against Notre Dame Academy by a score of 59-52. The win was nothing new for the Pirates as they're now sitting on four straight.

Bay Port's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-7. As for Germantown, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-10.

Germantown might still be hurting after the 74-52 loss they got from Bay Port in their previous meeting back in February of 2019. Can Germantown avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
