Softball Recap: Keystone Heights Has No Trouble Against Clay

Keystone Heights's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They blew past the Clay Blue Devils 17-4. With that win, the Indians brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Keystone Heights let Bella Cumbo and Amberlea Wagner run wild. Cumbo went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while Wagner went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those three hits gave Cumbo a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cadie Bowles, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.

Keystone Heights was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory got Keystone Heights back to even at 3-3. As for Clay, their record is now an identical 3-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Keystone Heights will welcome Interlachen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Clay, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Palatka at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Palatka is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
