Softball Recap: Gettysburg Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bishop McDevitt, Gettysburg was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Palmyra Cougars, sneaking past 5-4. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won four in a row.

Abigail Thompson was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Cate Green was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Gettysburg picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-9. As for Palmyra, their record now sits at 4-4-1.

Looking ahead, Gettysburg will venture away from home to take on Spring Grove at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors are facing the Rockets at the right time seeing as the Rockets are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Palmyra, they will be playing at home against Manheim Central at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
