Football Recap: Lincoln Getts Leads Edgewood's Defense on Friday

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last five contests, Edgewood finally came back down to earth on Friday. They fell 12-0 to the Beech Grove Hornets. The game marked the first time this year in which the Mustangs were not able to get on the board.

Even if they lost, Edgewood's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Lincoln Getts was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. He has been hot, having also posted seven or more total tackles the last eight times he's played.

Caron Parks was his usual excellent self, rushing for 147 yards and one TD while picking up 7.4 yards per carry for Beech Grove. Parks showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 57 yards.

Edgewood's loss dropped their record down to 5-1. As for Beech Grove, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Edgewood has already played their next matchup, a 28-21 defeat against Sullivan on the 3rd. As for Beech Grove, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 46-13 victory against Speedway on the 3rd.
