Soccer Recap: Lakewood Comes Up Short

Lakewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Eaglecrest Raptors. Lakewood were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Eaglecrest apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2018.

Lakewood hit Eaglecrest with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Saylor Slaughter, Eliza Bard, and Sylvie Melancon.

Lakewood's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Eaglecrest, their win bumped their record up to 3-5-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakewood will face off against Valor Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Valor Christian will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Lakewood surely won't give up without a fight. As for Eaglecrest, they will take on Cherokee Trail at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
