Baseball Recap: Narragansett Regional Comes Up Short

Narragansett Regional couldn't beat Ayer Shirley on Wednesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the second inning. The Warriors fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 8-7. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 back in April.

Trey Richard stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 2-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and two runs. That home run was his first of the season. Landen Dupuis was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with six stolen bases.

Narragansett Regional dropped their record down to 4-10 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Ayer Shirley, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-7.

Looking ahead, Narragansett Regional will face off against St. Bernard's Central Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ayer Shirley, they will head out on the road to take on Gardner at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
