Soccer Game Preview: Pioneer vs. Santa Fe

Pioneer is 1-8 against Santa Fe since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Pioneer Titans will host the Santa Fe Chiefs at 5:00 p.m. Pioneer will be strutting in after a victory while Santa Fe will be coming in after a defeat.

Pioneer is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand Workman a 12-0 shutout two weeks ago. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Meanwhile, Santa Fe unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against South El Monte, falling 5-0. The loss put an end to the Chiefs' undefeated start to the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Santa Fe fell to 6-1-3. As for Pioneer, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.

Pioneer might still be hurting after the 4-1 loss they got from Santa Fe in their previous meeting back in December of 2018. Can Pioneer avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
