It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but West Seneca East had no problem doing just that on Friday. They secured a 34-29 W over the Iroquois Redhawks. For the Trojans, this counts as revenge for the 49-13 win the Redhawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2024.
Defeat or not, Iroquois got some senior leadership from Justus Kleitz and Nicholas Skutnik. Kleitz threw for 365 yards and four touchdowns, while Skutnik picked up 187 receiving yards and three TDs. Those 365 passing yards set a new season-high mark for Kleitz.
The victory made it two in a row for West Seneca East and bumps their season record up to 8-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points over those games. As for Iroquois, they moved to 8-2 with that loss, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.
As of now, neither West Seneca East nor the Redhawks have any future games scheduled.
