Volleyball Recap: Hannah Vermuelen Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat West Bend West

Mukwonago won the last time they faced West Bend West and things went their way on Saturday too. The Indians had just enough and edged out the Spartans 2-1.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mukwonago to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hannah Vermuelen, who had 19 digs and two assists. Those 19 digs gave Vermuelen a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Amanda Esmeier, who had 21 assists and six digs.

Despite the loss, West Bend West still got an impressive performance from Ella Henschel, who had nine assists and six digs.

Mukwonago's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for West Bend West, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Mukwonago didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Kettle Moraine on the 20th. As for West Bend West, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Kettle Moraine Lutheran on the 20th.
