Tanque Verde had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They put the hurt on the Desert Christian Eagles with a sharp 17-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won 17 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Gabby Fukunaga made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, earning one RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Tanque Verde got a massive performance out of Mikaela Jackson, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Sara Hoagland was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Tanque Verde always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Desert Christian only posted an OBP of .231.

Tanque Verde pushed their record up to 24-5 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Desert Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season.

As of now, neither Tanque Verde nor Desert Christian have any future games scheduled.
