Basketball Game Preview: Gunnison Cowboys vs. Meeker Cowboys

The Gunnison Cowboys will head out on the road to face off against the Meeker Cowboys at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Gunnison is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Cedaredge just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Saturday. The matchup between them and the Bruins didn't end well, with Gunnison falling 50-33.

Kylee McDougal put forth a good effort for the losing side as she dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Yaslin Hernandez, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Meeker, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against Plateau Valley by a score of 52-41 on Thursday.

Meeker pushed their record up to 9-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Gunnison, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-6.

Gunnison strolled past Meeker when the teams last played back in January by a score of 48-34. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gunnison since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
