Baseball Recap: Hoke County Comes Up Short

Hoke County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They came up short against the Purnell Swett Rams, falling 13-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bucks of the 5-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Hoke County's loss dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Purnell Swett, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-9 record this season.

Hoke County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Purnell Swett, they will be taking part in a tournament against East Columbus at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Gators have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season.
