Basketball Recap: Air Academy Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Air Academy put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Delta Panthers 72-33. Given the Kadets' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Panthers are ranked 74th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Air Academy was led to victory by Tatyonna Brown and Lydia Flowers. Brown went 12 for 13 on her way to 26 points in addition to five boards and three steals, while Flowers went 9 of 20 on her way to 21 points along with eight boards and five assists. With that strong performance, Flowers is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinley Asp, who posted ten points in addition to seven steals and six assists.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Air Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Air Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Delta, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-3.

Air Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 66-50 win against Fruita Monument on the 21st. As for Delta, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 43-37 defeat against Palmer Ridge on the 21st.
