Softball Recap: Port Washington Comes Up Short

Port Washington lost against Hartford back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Pirates took a 15-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Orioles. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Libby Bates was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Shelby Cash was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Port Washington's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Hartford, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Port Washington will face off against rival Homestead at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hartford is set to take on their familiar foe Grafton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
