Baseball Game Preview: Central Bucks West Bucks vs. Central Bucks East Patriots

A classic East v. West matchup is on the schedule. The Central Bucks West Bucks will square off against the Central Bucks East Patriots at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Central Bucks West's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Central Bucks East's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Central Bucks West is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Pennsylvania's top teams: North Penn, who was ranked fifth at the time (Central Bucks West was ranked 16th). The Bucks fell just short of the Knights by a score of 7-6 on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Bucks in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Central Bucks East owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They blew past Pennridge 7-0. The Patriots not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 28th (when they won 17-10).

Central Bucks East got a great performance from Michael Colbert as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. Colbert also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Patriots are 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-6 otherwise.

At the plate, Tyler Muzsi was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Nick Mutchler also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Central Bucks East and bumps their season record up to 6-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Central Bucks West, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.

Central Bucks West came out on top in a nail-biter against Central Bucks East when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 5-4. Do the Bucks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Patriots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
